Do you know someone who loves to garden? If you aren’t blessed with a green thumb of your own, it can be difficult to shop for someone who has one. After all, how do you know what they really need?

Lucky for you, we are always shopping for gardeners, and we know just what they are looking to receive this holiday season. Read on to discover the best gifts for someone who loves to garden.

12 Best Gardening Gifts

1. Ceramic Bee Drinking Cups

Chances are, your gardening friend already has all the shovels and seeds they need, but do you know what they don’t have? Drinking cups for bees. Any gardening enthusiast will smile when they open this gift, ecstatic about being able to help the insects that keep their garden beautiful. Plus, they’re beautiful and an excellent addition to any garden, even if the bees don’t use them all that much.

2. Butterfly Lights

Love the idea of the bee cups, but want something more décor-oriented? Look no further than these beautiful butterfly lights. Not only will they take your loved one’s garden to the next level, but you, as their friend, will also get to enjoy how these look dotting their yard. Even if they don’t have a full garden, these still look great in a simple garden box.

3. Gardener’s Tool Seat

Gardening can be fun at any age, though it can get more challenging the older you get. Thanks to this amazing Gardener’s tool seat, your loved one can garden from the comfort of a moveable chair with all their tools nearby. This version was our favorite, but there are so many variations of this chair; don’t be afraid to shop around!

4. Personalized Garden Sign

As we mentioned above, we recommend staying away from tools and purchasing décor—because while everyone has tool preferences, usually all types of décor are welcome! One of our favorite décor options is this customizable garden sign, which can be personalized with your loved one’s name. This way, the whole neighborhood will know which plot belongs to them! Don’t forget to scroll over, as there are multiple options for the base design of the sign.

5. T-Rex Gnome Sculpture

Does your gardener friend have a sense of humor? Then this statue is the perfect gift for them. I mean, who doesn’t want a T. rex eating garden gnomes in their garden? We also think this is a great white elephant gift if your family has that type of gift-giving around the holidays! We know this is a bit more expensive of a gift, and if you are on a tight budget, you may want to check out our article on giving gifts on a fixed income.

6. A Subscription

Is your friend more of a non-physical gift person? Then we recommend signing them up for a gardening-related subscription. While some of the options are boxes that are sent every month, other options include magazine subscriptions, or club subscriptions where your loved one can learn more about gardening and meet new like-minded friends!

7. A Book About Gardening

Gardening literature, like most non-fiction books, ages quickly. This means that even if you buy your gardening friend a book they already have, it is highly likely to be a new version, or at least an updated one! Although we always recommend asking for a gift receipt when buying books (no matter the topic), below are some interesting books for learning about gardening that your friend is unlikely to already own:

8. A Solar Lantern

We were shocked when we came across these solar lanterns—they’re such a beautiful addition to any garden, and they are so affordable. These lanterns are completely solar powered: they collect light during the day to shine at night. As long as they get at least 6 hours of charging, they should last all night long and are completely waterproof. If that weren’t enough, you can also select the animal you want featured on your gift!

9. A Kneeling Pad

If you are looking for a budget gift, check out this kneeling pad. A soft cushion designed to save a gardener’s knees, this is something we think everyone needs. Even if your friend already has one, don’t hesitate to choose this as a gift, as they do wear out over time—not to mention your friend may want to stack two for some extra comfort!

10. Bonsai Tree Kit

Generally, we don’t recommend buying plants for a gardener as they are likely to know what grows best, and goes best, in their own garden. However, this bonsai tree kit is the only exception. Bonsai trees are rare in nature and often difficult to grow, but we know your gardener friend still wants to try their hand at it! Plus, since it’s a kit, they can also put it off until the urge hits them a few months down the road.

11. Gardener’s Hand Therapy

Gardening is hard work, and any devoted gardener will suffer from dry and aching hands from time to time. This gardener’s hand cream makes an excellent stocking stuffer or low-cost gift for a friend who is constantly using their hands.

12. Offer to Garden With Them

Don’t have any money for a gift? One of the best ways to make a gardener happy is to offer to help them! Chances are, they have so much they want to do in their garden that they just don’t have the time to get to. This is an especially excellent gift for a family member, like a grandparent or parent, as we are certain they can’t wait to spend even more time with you. Just write down how long you will spend gardening with them on a card and watch their face light up when they open it on Christmas Day.
